Rehearsals for the Training, Intermediate and Concert Bands commence in Week 3 (Feb 9).
Jazz Band rehearsals commence in Week 4 (Feb. 16).
Rehearsal times for 2009 are as follows:
| Jazz Band | Monday Afternoons | 3.15pm - 4.15pm |
| Intermediate Band | Wednesday Mornings | 7.30am - 8.50am |
| Concert Band | Thursday Afternoons | 3.15pm - 4.45pm |
| Training Band | Thursday Afternoons | 4.50pm - 6.00pm |
Please note that students should be seated and ready to play at these starting times.
Frequently Asked Questions:
My child’s tutor hasn’t contacted us yet. What should we do?
It is your responsibility to contact your child’s tutor and arrange a time for their weekly lesson. Tutor contact details are included in your Information Packs. If you require these details again, please email secretary@ashburyband.org.au, stating your child’s name and instrument.
My child will not have had a lesson when band rehearsals start. Does this matter?
Your child does not need to have had a lesson to attend and benefit from the first band rehearsal. At these early practices, the children learn about playing together as an ensemble and watching the conductor etc. Jason will teach them to play their tuning note if required.
We haven’t paid any band fees yet. When do we do this?
See here for details of our Band Camp and Program Orientation night. Band fee notices are issued at this meeting.
Do we need to buy any music books?
We provide all the music required for Training Band and tutorials. The cost will be included in your fee notice.
We still don’t have an instrument for our child and need advice.
